Extreme Flying
STOL-Adventures.com has released its first full-length DVD featuring
the STOL CH 701.
Titled "Canyon Surfing," this video shows off the aircraft at its
best in off-airport, back-country environments: Landing and taking
off from rough river beds, short grass fields and curved private
roads. Flown by experienced STOL pilots Christopher Desmond and
Michael Heintz, this fast-paced adventure includes steep turns,
tight "canyon turn-arounds" and remarkably steep approaches and
climb-outs, providing an excellent demonstration of the STOL's
amazing capabilities.

Attila Kazi's
plans-built STOL CH 701 from
Adelaide, Australia.
"Here is my finished STOL CH 701 -
first flight was on January 19, 2008. The building took six
years, from plans. Thanks to Chris Heintz for the nice design
and easy reading plans (blueprints). The engine is the 80-hp Rotax
912, and the plane has a folding wing option."

Jeff Beachy's beautifully built and
finished STOL CH 701 in Plain City, Ohio:
"I am happy to report that my CH701 is
complete and flying. I received an FAA airworthiness certificate on
December 17, 2007 with first flight following on Christmas Day. I built
N701N from a Zenith complete airframe kit. Engine is a Rotax
912ULS. This was my first airplane project and I thoroughly
enjoyed the entire experience. Thanks to Zenith staff for technical
help. Kudos to designer Chris for such a fine design. Now, if the wind
will finally die down after 3 weeks of constant crosswinds, I'll get
back to flying my new airplane!"
