100 HP* 912 ULS Zenith Aircraft Company recommends the Rotax 912 series engines as the standard powerplant for both the ZODIAC CH 601 series and the STOL CH 701. The new 912 UL S is a 100 HP* version of the certified 81 HP 912 engine, with the same external dimensions as the standard Rotax 912. The Rotax 914 is a turbocharged version of the Rotax 912 engine, and the new Rotax 912iS engine is the latest engine from Rotax, with fuel injection and an engine management system (ie. 4-stroke, 4 cylinder horizontally opposed, dual spark ignition engine, one central camshaft, pushrods, OHV:
* Full 73.6 KW (100 HP) available only when installed with Rotax tuned intake and exhaust systems designed for the 912 S UL. Use of other intake and / or exhaust systems may result in reduced take-off power. Potential users of the 912 S UL should consult the 912 S Installation Manual for more detailed information. Zenith Aircraft Company supplies complete firewall-forward packages for the Rotax 912S powerplant installation, including the engine, engine mount, fiberglass engine cowl, exhaust system, liquid cooling system, electrical system, propeller, all all other accessories (available only to builders of Zenith Aircraft kits). Zenith Aircraft Company supplies the Rotax 912S engine with the Rotax slipper clutch option installed, for smoother engine operation.
